Prof. Paulo Lourenço University of Minho
Paulo B. Lourenço is Full Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Minho, Head of Research at the Institute of Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE) and Head of the European Erasmus Mundus MSc in Structural Analysis of Masonry and Historical Constructions.
He is also invited professor from Technical University of Catalonia (Spain), National Autonomous University of Mexico, IUAV University of Venice (Italy), University of Padua (Italy), Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), University St. Anthony Abad de Cusco (Peru) and University Jean Piaget (Angola).
He is expert on engineering and conservation of cultural heritage buildings, reinforced concrete structures, masonry structures, monitoring plans, and survey, inspection and methods.
He is author of circa 800 technical and scientific publications and supervisor of 7 postdoctoral fellows, 50 PhD students (29 concluded), 37 MSc Students.
He is member of several Technical Committees such as Head of the Advisory Council from International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Portugal, since 2009, and member of the Scientific Committee ISCARSAH – International Scientific Committee for Analysis and Restoration of Structures of Architectural Heritage, ICOMOS, since 2001.
He is Editor of the International Journal of Architectural Heritage: Conservation, Analysis, and Restoration (Taylor and Francis), and member of several editorial boards of international journals.
